Unison Hotels Limited was set up as the development company
for The Grand New Delhi. This ten-acre development in the
Vasant Kunj area of New Delhi saw the arrival of India's
first super deluxe hotel. This 390 - room hotel has the
finest restaurants in Delhi and a superb day spa. Its convention
and meeting facilities are the best in the region.
The hotel was launched in August 2000. It
is a landmark in building architecture. The structure was
developed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of London and Rajinder
Kumar & Associates of Delhi. Interior designers for the
hotel were Hirsch Bedner and Associates of San Francisco,
one of the leading interior design companies in the world.
The interiors of the hotel is unique in that it reflects a
contemporary interpretation of traditional Indian design and
architecture.
The Grand New Delhi's spectacular lobby,
a trademark of the hotel, is an elegant blend of rich pinewood
and black marble and has a stunning vaulted ceiling with natural
skylights. Its large full window frontages looking onto the
lush green gardens and cascading water breathe serenity and
space into a contemporary setting, giving it a welcoming and
relaxing ambience.
